Backlink Gap

Domains linking to your competitors but not to you — a concrete link-building target list.

Gaps → Backlink Gap inverts your backlink profile: instead of who links to you, it shows who links to a selected competitor but not to you. You pick one competitor per comparison.

What you see

Per referring domain:

  • its status — links only to them, only to you, or both,
  • link strength/authority signals for each side.

The list is your most concrete link-building entry point: these domains already link to sites like yours — they are topical, reachable and demonstrably willing to link in your category.

How to work it

  1. Prioritize domains linking to the competitor but not to you — repeated across several competitors (run the comparison per competitor) they are the outliers worth attention.
  2. Prefer domains whose content overlaps your category (visible from the competitor context) — a relevant link beats a strong-but-irrelevant one.
  3. Classic plays for SaaS/tooling: alternatives/comparison pages, integrations directories, curated lists ("best X for Y"), guest posts. Check what the competitor's link on that domain actually is before you pitch.

Data notes

There is no live backlink provider wired in yet: your side of the comparison comes from the project's stored backlink profile, and the competitor side is only available in demo mode (deterministic synthetic profile, labeled). Outside demo mode the comparison honestly returns your domain list with empty gap rows until a real backlink provider is integrated. See Data sources.
