Keyword Research
Find new keywords from a seed term — volume, difficulty, CPC and intent.
Research (SEO → Keyword Research) turns a seed term into a candidate keyword list you can add to rank tracking.
Running research
Enter a seed keyword (e.g. "managed postgres") and run. You get related keywords with, for each:
- search volume — monthly searches,
- difficulty — how hard it is to rank,
- CPC — what the keyword costs in paid search (a commercial-value hint),
- intent — informational / commercial / transactional / navigational.
This is live DataForSEO keyword data — research requires the DataForSEO integration; in demo mode an unconfigured integration yields deterministic sample candidates (labeled) so you can still explore the workflow. See Data sources.
From research to tracking
Any row can be added straight to your tracked keywords — subject to the per-project keyword budget (Free 10 → Agency 2000). A good loop:
- Research a seed cluster.
- Filter to commercial + transactional intent with volume you can win.
- Add the best few to Rank Tracking.
- Watch them in Rank Tracking and the Growth Score SEO pillar.
Research vs gap analysis
- Keyword Research starts from a seed term and expands outward — good for discovering a topic you don't cover yet.
- Keyword Gap starts from competitors and shows what they rank for and you don't — good for catching up on a topic you already compete in.
Use both: research to expand, gap to defend and catch up.
Difficulty and volume are directional inputs, not guarantees. The platform's job is to surface candidates fast; your judgment picks which to target.
