Competitor Gap
Discover real competitors from SERP co-occurrence — overlap keywords, volume, positions, competition score.
Gaps → Competitor Gap is the competitor discovery page: it finds domains that repeatedly share SERPs with you — your real competitive set, derived from data instead of guesses.
What discovery shows
Per discovered domain (over the lookback window, default 30 days):
- overlap keywords — how many of your tracked keywords it appears on,
- overlap volume — the combined search volume of those keywords,
- average position — where it sits on the shared terms,
- total sightings — how consistently it appears (days × keywords),
- competition score — a single number to sort the list by.
A domain counts as sharing a keyword only when it appears on ≥ 2 distinct days for that keyword (stability guardrail against one-off appearances). Generic search domains (google.com, youtube.com, …) and your already-tracked competitors are excluded from the candidate list by default.
From discovery to tracking
Discovery only finds candidates. Promote the ones that matter to tracked competitors in Competitors — that is what unlocks Keyword Gap, Backlink Gap, Intersection and the SOV side of AI Visibility against them.
Where the SEO/GEO side-by-side lives
Per-competitor SEO overlap and AI share of voice are on their own pages: Keyword Gap for the keyword overlap, Benchmarks for AI share of voice. This page answers the question before those: who should even be on the list?
Discovery sharpens as snapshots accumulate — the default window is 30 days with a 2-day minimum co-occurrence, so a fresh project needs a week or two of rank history before the list stabilizes.
